Our experience at Mercure Hull Grange Park Hotel had a lot of positives, but unfortunately, the service from the receptionist fell short. Starting with the good: the hotel’s communication before our stay was excellent. I received multiple emails leading up to our visit, which made me feel welcomed and excited. The hotel itself is spacious, comfortable, and well-maintained. Our room was clean, and when we had an issue with the heating, the staff were incredibly responsive. After calling the operator, a kind lady from the staff arrived promptly to fix the problem. She was professional and quick, ensuring that everything was working well, which was a relief since my husband, who is recovering from a stroke, needed to stay warm while I attended a wedding. Her efficiency and care really stood out. Now, for the not-so-good part: our experience with the receptionist was disappointing. We arrived at 2 pm, knowing check-in was at 3 pm, but I thought I’d ask if the room was ready. The receptionist was not welcoming and flatly told me check-in was at 3 pm. I accepted this, but was frustrated when I saw another guest being checked in before 3 pm while I was told to wait. It left me feeling confused about the inconsistency. Additionally, when we were finally checked in, the receptionist failed to provide basic information like the time and location of breakfast. This lack of communication felt like poor service, especially for such a large and otherwise well-run hotel. In conclusion, while the hotel itself and the rest of the staff were fantastic, the experience with the receptionist unfortunately took away from what could have been a flawless stay. With some improvements to reception service, Mercure Hull Grange Park Hotel has the potential to be a top choice for travelers.

We booked very last minute and were able to get a privilege double room. On arrival the young lady that greeted us (I can’t remember her name) was lovely, really welcoming and got us sorted quickly. The room itself was large, very spacious and warm. The bed was very comfortable and definitely bigger than a standard double. Large window letting in plenty of light for getting ready. Tea and coffee facilities were great and an ironing board and iron there ready to use. The soaps, shampoo, conditioner etc and the hair dryer all great quality. Plenty of hangers available which was handy. The pool / health facilities were good, little worn and dated with an odd smell in the changing rooms but nothing too major. The kids swimming lesson took a bit out of our ‘relaxing vibe’ but hey it is what it is, we’re parents too. We didn’t have breakfast as had to leave too early but the checkout process was simple. Plenty of parking available and had no problem even when we returned very late in the evening.

The hotel was very clean and looked very nice and welcoming. We went during christmas season and the decorations and christmas trees were beautiful. The staff were very friendly and got us checked in quickly. There were events taking place during our stay which we werent a part of which they checked with us and ensured our room was on the other side of the hotel so we werent disturbed by these which was fantastic and we appreciated that.

Hotel was easy to find. Big car park. Cheerful efficient check in. Nice, modern air-conditioned, ground floor bar and restaurant area. Relaxed atmosphere, we felt at home straight away. Room big with huge, comfy bed. Pretty view of hotel garden with big trees and twinkley lights with inviting looking tables and chairs. Staff were very kind and helpful.

Its a nice place to stay, clean and tidy, no room issues. Location is very close to Castle Hill Hospital for appointments (one of the reasons we stated here) and quite close to Bridlington for a seaside day out (the other reason) The pool is nice and you can also use the gym The price of last min non-refundabke room was very good Overall a nice hotel
